We arrive at Sosian, a 24,000-acre private, working ranch, in time for lunch.

In the afternoon you may opt for a horseback or camel ride to explore the southern end of the ranch or take a walk along the river, pausing to take in the stunning waterfalls at your turnaround point • Eat an early dinner before we head out for a night safari with spotlights in search of leopard and other nocturnal animals, such as aardvark and the smaller gennet and serval cats. Overnight Sosian Ranch

Day 6: Laikipia Plateau

Awaken early to a steaming hot mug of coffee as you prepare to head out north of the ranch, up onto the open plains. Scan the surrounding openness for some of Kenya’s rarer species such as Jackson’s hartebeest, Oryx and aardwolf. Sit under the shade of an acacia tree near one of the many dams of the ranch as you enjoy a late morning brunch. Upon returning to the lodge, relax by the pool or try your hand at a game of tennis.

After tea, meet the ranch cattle manager and take a guided tour of the stud breeding herds – some of Kenya’s finest – showcasing the balance between cattle ranching and wildlife conservation. Back at the lodge, throw on some warm clothes because tonight we’re headed out to a bush dinner. Tonight, choose to sleep under the stars in a simple fly camp, falling asleep to the sounds of the African bush. Overnight Sosian Ranch.

Day 7: Masai Mara Reserve

After a tasty breakfast, wish farewell to the Sosian Ranch as we take off for the Nanyuki airstrip (2 hours) Board your plane for a one hour scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. From the airstrip, a guide will meet you and transfer you to Mara Camp, situated on Mara North Conservancy, north of the Masai Mara Game Reserve. This afternoon you will head out in custom made Landcrusiers into the Mara North Conservancy where the game viewing is superb and the chances of seeing the big cats are very high.

Experience a sundowner in front of a campfire, overlooking the Masai Mara ecosystem – what a breathtaking way to finish the day! On return to camp take a hot shower and feast on a sumptuous dinner served in the candlelit mess tent before heading off to sleep. Overnight Offbeat Mara Camp.
